Michael Libby

MS, Clinical Trainee

Accepting new clients in St Cloud and via telehealth.

Michael is a mental health provider dedicated to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. He holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a focus on disability. He believes in meeting clients where they are, fostering a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they can explore their challenges and work toward meaningful, lasting change. He finds deep value in helping individuals break free from long-standing struggles and build a greater sense of control and purpose in their lives.

He has particular experience working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system, populations he is especially passionate about serving. He focuses on building trust, promoting accountability, and addressing the unique barriers these individuals may face. He also works with individuals experiencing personality disorders, helping to identify and address underlying core needs while developing practical skills to make daily life more manageable.

Michael is EMDR-trained and utilizes a trauma-focused approach to support clients in processing past experiences and reducing the impact of trauma on daily functioning. He is also in the process of completing his Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credential, further strengthening his ability to support individuals with co-occurring substance use concerns.

His approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect. He is committed to creating an inclusive and affirming space for all clients and proudly identifies as an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community (He/Him).

In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his cats and caring for his houseplants. During the summer months, he can often be found working in the garden or tending to yard plants. He is also actively working toward his long-term goal of obtaining his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
